Critique Post
Our last class was the day we turned in our first assignment for digital interactive media. We each went up and presented our typography project to the whole class and then shared our thoughts and feelings about each work. Critiques are a part of every art class that i have taken. Some go much smoother and easier then others, for example i have been in a class where you could hear someones stomach growling from the backroom while we were supposed to be discussing the drawing that my fellow student made. To critique means to give other points of views to assist in the development of the project and even future projects to come. Critiquing is extremely important because when people talk out loud about what they think in their head it can influence the artist and help them gain a better understanding about where they need to focus more attention on, and even what their strengths are. By getting accustomed to talking about work, ideas and the process of creation will greatly benefit. By communicating to our peers and asking questions about the creative process, we learn a lot of valuable information that can greatly increase the quality of work. I enjoy the critiquing process because it gives me a chance to step outside my own realm and see how other people are interpreting my work. Overall my critique went over well and i gained some valuable suggestions on what i could do to improve my design. I can take constructive criticism and i value any opinions because they all assist in the process of designing a piece that is made to be viewed by an audience. I look forward to seeing the next project and seeing what ideas have been gained since the last critique session!
